CANON BROWNELL
DIRECTOR & EDITOR
Crafting visual narratives for top artists and brands.

First things first – yes, my name is really Canon. My dad was a photographer, so the name was no accident. Call it luck. Call it fate. Either way, the name stuck, and so did the camera.
I was raised in the backwoods of New Hampshire, where I learned the value of curiosity, craftsmanship, and how to dig a car out of a snowbank. Things look a little different now. I live and work in Los Angeles, surrounded by palm trees and people who take their coffee orders very seriously.
I’m a director and editor with a knack for storytelling that sticks. I’ve led projects for major brands and scrappy startups alike, often wearing multiple hats (and occasionally helmets depending on the shoot). If there’s a story worth telling, I want to tell it well.
I’m collaborative by nature, quick with questions, and I know when to push and when to let the work speak for itself. Whether I’m in the chaos of production or the calm of the edit bay, my focus is always on the final product.
